Vay´ah-dahr; Heb., “and Adar”
A thirteenth month that was inserted into the Jewish calendar between the months Adar and Nisan; it is added seven times in a cycle of nineteen years to correlate the Jewish lunar-based calendar, composed of twelve lunar months of 29.5 days (a 354-day year), with the solar year (365 days). It falls in late March and early April.
